The difference between customer-side and garçon- side contraction is where the contraction occurs. An external KMS, such as IBM KMS, is required to create the keys for encryption.

On a transport level, IBM Spectrum Protect sends data over dedicated network ports to Access. Fresh security that’s employed for this result is the demand to use Access stoner keys and credentials when configuring Access as a pall storehouse destination.

When SSL is enabled, certificates are generated in Access and placed in the IBM Spectrum Protect security certificate repository (Java Key Store) and data is sent via HTTPS. When Access is used as a Network Attached Storage (NAS) share, ownership of the share belongs to an IBM Spectrum Protect administrator, thus limiting access control of the content.
